There are some very powerful words, which can either lift us up or tear us down. Some words can assualt us as painfully as sticks and stones against our bones. While other words can lift our burdens, and bring peace to our weary hearts and minds. Words like "you have cancer" or "you're fired" can take away our equilibrium and cause us to walk around in a daze trying to comprehend the consequences of these short little phrases.
Yes, there are some powerful words, but the most powerful word of all is the name of Jesus, "for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12) The name of Jesus can remove all fear and it can instill boundless hope. So the next time you hear some words which take your breath away, remember the simple, yet profound name of Jesus.
