Easter Countdown - Day 28

Today is the day we remember Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem. He comes in riding on a young donkey colt, on which no one has ever sat. He does this in fulfillment of Zechariah 9:9, to show that He is coming in peace. He accepts the praise of the people who call Him King. Up until this point He has discouraged people from publically proclaiming Him as a Messiah and King, but now that He is at the end of His earthly ministry, the time is right for this proclamation. Yes, Jesus came into Jerusalem in peace, but within a short week's time, this same crowd is shouting crucify Him.

Jesus is coming back one day, and it will not be lowly and riding on a colt. He will come boldly and as the conquering King that He is. Let us rejoice now in His first coming, so that we will be ready for His second.
