Yesterday I spoke about being tired on this earth, while waiting for the eternal rest which comes from knowing Christ. So today as I write this post, my back is killing me, my muscles are sore all over, and my brain is still rattling around in my skull. You see, I ran a jack hammer today and what fun it was!
I've started a little handyman business, so I'm helping a friend remove some broken ceramic tiles and replace them. Getting the tiles out is easy compared to removing the mortar compound below it. That stuff is hard and it takes a jack hammer to break it up. I guess you could say the mortar mix is designed to form an unbreakable bond, in order to hold the tile into place.
Actually there is truly only one unbreakable bond that we can experience as human beings, and that is the bond of being born again into God's family. In John 10:28 Jesus says, "And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand." Now that's a bond no jack hammer can break!
