The Meaning of Life Is . . .

The meaning of life is not found within yourself. This may come as a shock to some people, but humanity did not create the universe. Look around yourself right now and find something that you created out of nothing. While there might be some artwork or other craft you skillfully assembled or made by using the materials available to you, there is in fact nothing you or any human being created out of nothing.

Now look at your hands. Did you make your hands? Of course not, because even as human beings we did not create ourselves out of nothing. Therefore, if we did not create the universe, any of the materials in the universe, or even ourselves, then why do we think we can find the meaning of life within ourselves? Since we did not make ourselves, we must consult the one who made us in order to find meaning and purpose in life. But how do we hear from our maker?

He has spoken clearly. The Bible says in Genesis 1:1, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." If you can accept this first principle, then you have begun the journey for understanding the meaning of life.

For His Glory,
Bert
